A Fairfield County hedge fund is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to join its Technology Infrastructure team. This role will support the firm s Linux server environment, including system provisioning, configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization, while collaborating with cross-functional IT teams to support enterprise applications and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Manage Red Hat Linux server operations, including builds, upgrades, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- Oversee patching, lifecycle management, and configuration standards
- Administer and optimize containerized environments using Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, or similar orchestration tools
- Support hybrid cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform), including VM provisioning, storage, and networking
- Monitor system performance and analyze logs to ensure reliability and efficiency
- Collaborate with development teams on Git and deployment support
- Maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure high availability and data integrity
- Document system configurations, procedures, and operational processes
- Maintain source code repositories and computational environments
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 5 years managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (or similar) in a production environment
- Experience integrating Linux with Windows environments (Samba, Active Directory, Kerberos)
- Strong scripting experience with Shell and/or Python
- Excellent communication and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience with hybrid or cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
- Financial services industry experience is a plus
Salary : $100,000 - $180,000
