We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QC Chemist to join our quality team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience performing analytical and physical testing of raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products to ensure compliance with internal specifications and customer requirements. This role requires strong laboratory skills, problem-solving ability, and familiarity with chemical manufacturing quality systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine quality control testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
- Conduct analytical and physical testing including viscosity, density, pH, solids content, cure testing, tensile strength, and other product-specific evaluations.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, test reports, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
- Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Support production teams by providing timely QC approvals and troubleshooting assistance.
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and testing equipment.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, safety, and internal quality standards.
- Assist in method development, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Retain and organize samples according to company procedures.
- Participate in internal audits and quality improvement projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific field.
- Minimum 2 years of quality control laboratory experience in chemical manufacturing, preferably within coatings, polymers, sealants, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of laboratory analytical techniques and QC documentation practices.
- Experience using laboratory instruments such as viscometers, FTIR, GC, HPLC, tensile testers, or similar equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory data recording systems.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with SAP, ERP systems, or LIMS software.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and chemical handling procedures.
