IT Project Coordinator
Location: Hybrid (T/W/Th onsite); Kansas City, MO
Terms: W-2 contract; 6 months in length with potential for hire
Rates: $40-45/hr.
We are seeking a proactive IT Project Coordinator to support and coordinate technology initiatives across the organization. This role is ideal for someone with approximately three to five years of experience and is ready to continue their growth by contributing to project planning, requirements gathering, and cross-functional collaboration under the supervision of Senior Project Managers.
The ideal candidate is organized, curious, adaptable, and eager to help drive successful project outcomes. Prior experience working with technical project management teams and software delivery will be a requirement for this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
- Assist with planning, scheduling, and tracking technology project activities.
- Prepare meeting agendas, document discussions, and follow up on action items.
- Support project managers with timeline, risk, and status reporting.
- Maintain clear communication among IT teams, business stakeholders, and vendors.
Requirements & Analysis
- Partner with stakeholders to document current processes and define future-state needs.
- Create functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows following Agile practices.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and impacts related to requirement changes.
Collaboration & Agile Support
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and help break down work into actionable tasks.
- Ensure teams share a clear understanding of scope, goals, and user expectations.
- Develop supporting documentation and communication materials.
Quality Assurance & Testing
- Assist with test planning, identifying test cases, and supporting functional and regression testing.
- Verify that delivered solutions meet requirements and user needs.
Training, Documentation & Operational Support
- Contribute to user training materials and assist with delivery.
- Document procedures, guidelines, and workflows to support operational readiness.
- Build system knowledge to serve as a resource for teams and stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement & Professional Development
- Stay current on project management practices, system capabilities, and emerging technologies.
- Support departmental planning and process improvement activities.
- Participate in learning and mentoring opportunities to develop project management skills.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in IT project coordination, business analysis, or early-stage project management.
Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of project management, Agile methodologies, and SDLC concepts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including advanced Excel and Visio) and collaboration tools such as SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
Additional Considerations
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Occasional off shift work or travel may be required.
- Experience in the insurance or brokerage industry is a plus.
