Company Description
Capovilla & Williams is seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal to support our Criminal Defense team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and is passionate about supporting service members.
Role Description
This is a Full-time position. Practice areas include military criminal defense, education law (Title IX), and administrative law. At least one year of law firm experience is required for consideration, but the best candidates will have 3-5 of relevant experience in a small law firm. Prior military experience is a big plus.
This position requires a combination of remote and on-site work at our Woodstock, GA headquarters, so you should be local to the Woodstock/Atlanta area. Strong organizational and communication skills are a must as this job requires legal document preparation, communication with clients, providing administrative assistance, and supporting attorneys with various legal tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys with criminal defense cases.
- Support attorneys with military justice cases (courts-martial, investigations, admin actions)
- Draft and manage legal documents and case files
- Communicate with clients, investigators, and team members
- Track deadlines and assist with trial preparation
Other Desirable Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to deal with serious subject matter
Preferred: Experience with legal software such as Clio or Filevine, as well as Google Workspace and TimeSolv
Compensation: $50,000 annually (based on experience)
