Jr. Process Engineer Intern 2026

Engineer Efficiency. Support Process Excellence.
Capitol Aggregates is seeking a Jr. Process Engineer to join our Cement Division. Under the guidance of our Process Engineer and in collaboration with operations teams, this role will support process optimization, data analysis, and problem-solving efforts to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality and safety across cement production.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in monitoring daily production trends and participate in weekly process review routines.

• Collaborate with the process engineer to implement optimization projects focused on efficiency, energy reduction, waste minimization, and quality improvement.

• Collect and analyze data from raw material handling, grinding, kiln operation, and cement milling for statistical analysis.

• Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis, updating the RCA action plan and dashboard.

• Contribute to a 5S Program project, improving organization and operational conditions within a plant area.

• Track and update downtime in the Uptime Go system.

• Support weekly updates to the plant’s technical and operational training tracker.

• Maintain a safe, clean work area and follow all company safety rules, procedures, and MSHA regulations.

What You’ll Bring

• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook, with familiarity in data analysis.

• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret process and performance data.

• Basic knowledge of process engineering principles, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.

• Interest in process optimization, safety, and technical development.

Education & Experience

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

• Junior or senior academic standing required.

• GPA of 2.5–3.3 or higher.

• Basic understanding of process control systems and industrial automation is a plus.
