The Vice President of Strategic Growth & Integration is a key executive leadership role responsible for driving the company’s growth strategy through acquisitions, market analysis, greenfielding, and enterprise-wide strategic initiatives. This role operates with a primary focus on market assessment, target identification, due diligence coordination, and integration planning and execution.
The remaining focus supports high-impact special projects across the organization’s vertically integrated business lines. This role works cross-functionally with operations, sales, accounting, human resources, IT, safety, and legal to evaluate opportunities, drive efficiencies, and support strategic execution.
This position requires a blend of financial acumen, operational knowledge, project management, and strategic leadership, with the ability to influence decisions at the executive level.
Key Responsibilities – Growth Initiatives (75%)
- Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of acquisition opportunities aligned with company growth strategy
- Conduct market assessments to identify expansion opportunities across geographic regions and service lines
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of acquisition targets within construction materials industry
- Partner with executive leadership to define acquisition criteria and strategic priorities
- Coordinate and lead cross-functional due diligence efforts (financial, operational, legal, HR, IT, environmental, safety)
- Lead the development and alignment of capital investment strategy, including evaluation and prioritization of growth capital expenditures.
- Develop financial models, valuation analyses, and investment recommendations
- Support negotiation strategy, deal structuring, and closing processes
- Lead or support post-acquisition integration planning to ensure alignment with operational and financial objectives
Key Responsibilities – Business Excellence Initiatives (25%)
- Lead and/or support special projects across business units
- Evaluate operational performance and identify opportunities for efficiency, scalability, and margin improvement
- Partner with division leaders to assess new market entry strategies, capital investments, and product line expansion
- Support enterprise-level initiatives such as vertical integration optimization, cost structure improvements, and process standardization
- Collaborate with Accounting, HR, IT, and other support functions to align systems, reporting, and organizational capabilities with growth strategy
- Standardize and align KPIs across the organization to ensure clarity, consistency, and direct linkage to strategic and operational objectives
- Prepare executive-level presentations and recommendations for strategic decisions
Qualifications:Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, construction management, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 10 years of experience in market development & business performance, finance, & operations
- Successful candidates shall have wide knowledge of the construction materials industry including but not limited to aggregates, asphalt, and/or construction
- Demonstrated experience leading due diligence and transaction processes
- Proven track-record of being able to develop, plan and execute impactful business initiatives
