Capital Workforce Solutions is partnering with a leading heavy/highway contractor to hire an experienced Civil Construction Estimator to join a growing Project Management team during a period of rapid expansion.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong experience in heavy highway, civil, and infrastructure project estimation who can confidently interpret plans, manage bid preparation, and support project financial success from pre-construction through completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs from construction documents
- Review plans and specifications (state & federal) to define project scope
- Solicit and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and vendors
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead
- Support bid strategy and participate in bidding decisions
- Maintain vendor, subcontractor, and resource databases
- Collaborate with Project Management on financial planning and project execution
- Communicate plans, scopes, and contract terms with internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- Minimum 10 years of estimating experience in heavy civil/highway construction
- Strong understanding of multi-phase civil construction projects
- Field experience preferred
- Established relationships with local suppliers and subcontractors
- Excellent plan reading and contract interpretation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
