Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in our Des Moines office. This full-time role works Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, vendor management, and reconciliations, while also providing occasional support to customer service as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately review, code, and process vendor invoices
• Process check requests and expense reports on a regular basis
• Perform monthly reconciliations
• Maintain a large number of vendor accounts while staying in compliance with company policies and procedures
• Perform data entry associated with accounts payable
• Review and reconcile invoice discrepancies
• Address and respond to vendor inquiries
• Back up to customer service - answering phones and order entry
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED; Associates Degree in Accounting preferred
• 1-3 years accounts payable or general accounting experience preferred
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills
• Good organization, time management, and mathematical skills
• Proficient in MS Office
• Dependable and reliable
