We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payment Posting and Billing Specialist to support our revenue cycle operations. In this role, you will play a key part in accurately posting payments, verifying patient and insurance date, and ensuring efficient billing processes. The ideal candidate will have healthcare billing experience, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to excellent patient and insurance communication.
Responsibilities:
- Post payments from patients and charges accurately in our medical billing system
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
- Assist with billing appeals, accounts receivable follow-up and benefits verification
- Identify payment trends and resolve billing discrepancies, including insurance denials
- Support administrative tasks as assigned to ensure smooth billling operations
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical billing preferred
- Minimum of two years of experience in medical payment posting, preferably in ambulatory surgery centers, hospitals or physician offices
- Proficiency with electronic medical billing systems and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding basics
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
