Position Summary / Purpose
The Fleet Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and management of the rental and support inventory. This role oversees inventory control, maintenance oversight, equipment purchasing, KPI development, vendor relations, and fleet logistics to ensure high equipment readiness, operational efficiency, and strong financial performance.
Primary Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Direct and oversee daily operations of the pump rental fleet, including tracking equipment by job site, type, and utilization.
- Ensure rental assets are available, maintained, and performing at optimal levels.
- Develop, manage, and track annual CAPEX budgets.
- Research, evaluate, and procure equipment, tools, and rolling stock as needed.
- Prepare and approve purchase orders for rental and specialty equipment.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date inventory records and effectively manage stock levels.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and equipment inspections to ensure accuracy and readiness.
- Coordinate equipment transfers and fleet movements across locations.
- Lead maintenance and repair operations to ensure timely, high-quality service.
- Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs.
- Maintain complete and compliant service documentation and maintenance histories.
- Oversee warranty processes, ensuring prompt and accurate claims and recoveries.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Negotiate pricing, service terms, and contracts to ensure maximum value and reliability.
- Create, monitor, and report on KPIs measuring fleet efficiency, utilization, and performance.
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare, develop, and analyze fleet plans in collaboration with the Finance team and incorporating input from operations and sales leadership to assess rental fleet utilization, optimize return on invested capital (ROIC), and support forecasting and business plan development.

Experience / Education
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of commercial/industrial/municipal equipment rental or service, including 2 years of fleet management experience.
- Experience in pump/equipment rental or related fields is a plus.
- Experience working with major OEM pump manufacturers is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and applicable state safety regulations.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; CDL a plus.
Physical / Work Requirements
- Ability to travel as required.
- Ability to work in both office and outdoor yard environments with exposure to weather, equipment noise, and dust.
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting as required for branch and fleet inspections.
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
