Capital Materials is currently seeking Asphalt Plant Laborers / Groundmen to support asphalt plant operations for the 2026 construction season in Jefferson City, Missouri. Position Summary

The Asphalt Plant Laborer / Groundman supports daily asphalt plant operations through equipment maintenance, site cleanliness, material handling, and assistance with plant repairs. This position works closely with skilled plant operators to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of asphalt plant equipment and plant site.
• Operate skid-steer, dump truck, and various hand tools including shovels, rakes, brooms, and related equipment.
• Conduct daily inspections of skid-steer, dump trucks, and other plant assets.
• Assist drivers with unloading liquid asphalt cement into designated storage tanks.
• Work closely with plant operators and maintenance personnel to support daily production needs.
• Assist with minor and major plant repairs as directed.
• Help maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and plant supplies.
• Cross-train on additional plant functions and equipment as opportunities arise.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and PPE requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• General knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment preferred.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and dependable attendance required.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Welding experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical labor.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to work overtime, nights, weekends, and travel as needed.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screening, and background check.
