About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Infusion Nurse to coordinate and administer ordered intravenous infusion therapies within Capital Health Plan's (CHP) Infusion Clinic. This role is responsible for managing infusion scheduling, preparing and administering IV therapies, monitoring patient response, and ensuring all care is delivered in accordance with medical orders, the Nurse Practice Act, and CHP policies and procedures.
The Infusion Nurse plays a key role in maintaining medication safety, infection control standards, and clinical documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR). This position also collaborates with clinical leadership to determine the most appropriate and cost-effective site of care for infusion services, balancing patient needs, benefit coverage, and treatment requirements.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Recent experience with IV therapy, venipuncture, and port access
- Six months to one year of related experience; minimum of two years of infusion or related nursing experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment with the ability to monitor patient response and communicate outcomes to providers
- Ability to accurately document care and therapies within an Electronic Health Record
Highly preferred candidates also have:
- Experience working in an infusion clinic, specialty clinic, or outpatient clinical setting
- Experience managing infusion scheduling and coordinating patient care workflows
- Strong knowledge of medication administration standards, infection control practices, and patient safety protocols
- Ability to assess venous access challenges and adapt care accordingly
- Experience collaborating with clinical leadership on care planning and site of service decisions
