HVAC Lead Installer Responsibilities
Lead residential HVAC installation projects
Install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, and boiler systems
Read and interpret installation drawings and system layouts
Ensure all HVAC installations meet local and state mechanical codes
Test, balance, and troubleshoot HVAC systems
Train and supervise HVAC helpers and junior installers
Maintain strong safety standards and quality workmanship
Provide excellent customer service during installations
HVAC Installer Requirements
2 years of HVAC installation experience
EPA Universal Certification
Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
Ability to pass background check and drug screen
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong knowledge of:
Refrigerant systems
Gas furnaces and electric furnaces
Heat pumps
Air conditioning systems
Boiler systems
Ductwork design and installation
HVAC low-voltage systems
Additional qualifications:
Ability to complete installations independently or lead a team
Ability to train and supervise others
Ability to test and balance HVAC systems
Ability to obtain and maintain NATE Installer Certifications
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Ability to understand and apply residential HVAC codes
