Summary:

The BSA Onboarding & Workflow Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the bank's fintech partners' adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML). This role is ideal for a compliance professional with 3 years of experience in financial institutions, particularly in automated onboarding workflows. The Specialist will be responsible for evaluating and enhancing customer onboarding processes used by our fintech partners, including CIP, KYC, and CDD requirements, and the third-party vendors that support these services. The candidate must be familiar with the onboarding ecosystem, understand knock-out and step-up rules, workflow parameters, and system settings used to automate onboarding. A key responsibility will be to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of existing workflows, identify gaps, substantiate findings, and recommend improvements to strengthen compliance and operational efficiency. Familiarity with BaaS or fintech/sponsor bank models is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will thrive in a flexible, fun, and challenging work environment and must be willing to work from our offices in Pleasant Grove, Utah.

Responsibilities

 

  • Review and assess automated onboarding workflows for compliance with CIP/KYC/CDD requirements
  • Evaluate third-party vendor solutions and their integration with internal systems used by fintechs
  • Analyze and optimize rule sets (e.g., knock-out, step-up) and workflow parameters
  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in current processes and recommend enhancements
  • Collaborate with our fintech partners to implement workflow improvements
  • Partner internally with program managers, IT, operations, and compliance teams
  • Document findings and support audit and regulatory reviews
  • Work on enhancements to the overall fintech monitoring framework
  • Support other AML team functions as needed in a dynamic and collaborative environment

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

 

  • ACAMS certification
  • Experience with onboarding platforms and CIP workflow automation tools (e.g., Middesk, Oscilar, Socure, Persona)
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and vendor management
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills
  • Ability to quickly adapt to a changing work environment and eagerly absorb new projects and responsibilities
  • Willingness to learn new skills and offer solutions to complex issues
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
  • Understanding of BaaS or fintech/sponsor bank models
  • Eagerness to get involved in projects outside of regular assignments
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Innovative thinking, proactivity, and solution-focused mindset
  • Effective task prioritization
  • Proactive in escalating concerns and asking questions
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite products (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
