Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role is vital in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting administrative functions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in various accounting software and concepts, including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and GAAP principles. Duties
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and others
- Perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
- Help the CFO with meetings and tasks as needed
- Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analysis
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Assist with payroll processing and tax-related tasks
- Generate financial reports and assist in budgeting activities
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and governmental accounting standards
- Support administrative functions including data entry, filing, and correspondence
- Conduct 10 key typing tasks for data accuracy and efficiency
- Assist with general office duties to support overall organizational operations
Experience
- Proven experience with bookkeeping, including double entry bookkeeping and general ledger reconciliation
- Familiarity with multiple accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and financial software tools
- Knowledge of corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, and public accounting practices
- Understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and account analysis
- Experience with payroll processing and tax preparation is preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately
- Prior experience in a professional accounting environment is highly desirable
This role requires a proactive individual capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high accuracy standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding of financial principles combined with excellent organizational skills to support both financial operations and administrative functions within our organization.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
