Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 190 days/year

Performance Responsibilities
- Function as an integral member of the Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy (OT/PT) program and the CAIU as a whole.
- Operate within the OT/PT program’s philosophy and program structure.
- Assist the OTR/L(s) in evaluating children/students according to procedure and tools specified for occupational therapy.
- Assist the OTR/L(s) in setting goals and making recommendations as an outcome of the evaluation process; participate in the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) development process as requested by the OTR/L.
- Develop and disseminate service schedule(s); schedule and provide treatment.
- Plan and deliver occupational therapy treatment as recommended by the OTR/L(s) to specified children/students in individual or small group sessions. Areas of treatment include: oral motor
development; sensory processing strategies; gross and fine motor development; feeding programs; prevocational activities; and activities of daily living.
- Review the child’s/student’s program and progress with the OTR/L at least one time per month.
- Assist in the identification of equipment needs, including the ordering and distribution of adaptive equipment.
- Construct or adapt equipment to include splints, wheelchairs, and other adaptive equipment under the supervision of an OTR/L.
- Organize, maintain, and inventory equipment in the treatment room and storage areas.
- Become/Be familiar with all forms of record keeping used within the CAIU OT/PT program; maintain written reports and records on interventions used within the program.
- Complete the documentation of treatment and adaptations, child’s progress, and team communication as requested by the OTR/L (s).
- Assist the OTR/L(s) in the scheduling of treatment sessions.
- Complete required records and reports to CAIU and professional standards and within stated timelines; adhere to all pertinent federal and state regulations, CAIU policies and procedures, OTR/L standards of practice, and ethical conduct of the occupational therapy profession.
- Complete a professional development plan in accordance with staff development procedures, as well as successfully complete the requirements of the plan.
- Maintain a base of current information through attendance at in-services, professional trainings, etc.
- Attend and participate in staff and team meetings as indicated.
- Adhere to all laws, regulations, and rules regarding confidentiality of student data, and utilize the utmost confidentiality in dealing with students and their families and when using both verbal and electronic communication.
- Support the mission of the CAIU and its Strategic Plan.
- Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy or his/her designee.
