A Workday Technical Specialist is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-quality Workday integrations, advanced reporting, PRISM data models, Extend applications, and Orchestrations. This role supports cross-functional business areas including HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT by developing scalable technical solutions and enabling data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Integrations & Technical Development:
Design, build, and maintain Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, APIs (SOAP/REST), Document Transformation, and Workday Orchestrate.
Oversee integration lifecycle management including monitoring, auditing, error handling, and performance tuning.
Collaborate with business/technical teams to translate complex integration requirements into scalable solutions.
Advanced Reporting & Analytics:
Develop Advanced Workday Reports, including calculated fields, composite reports, matrices, dashboards, and BIRT documents.
Build and maintain Workday Prism Analytics datasets, pipelines, and reporting frameworks to support enterprise analytics.
Drive enterprise reporting strategy leveraging Workday Reporting Prism for cross-system data flows.
Workday Extend & Custom Applications:
Design, build, test, and deploy applications using Workday Extend, including UI components, business logic, and app-level security.
Integrate Extend apps with Workday Orchestrate, Workday APIs, and external systems.
Support full lifecycle of Extend applications including enhancements, break/fix, documentation, and release readiness.
Orchestration & Workflow Automation:
Build and optimize Orchestrations using Workday Orchestrate to automate cross-system workflows.
Create visual workflows combining integrations, Extend apps, and Workday processes.
Cross-Functional Support:
Partner with HRIS, IT, Finance, and Payroll teams to evaluate requirements and implement scalable technical solutions.
Train internal technical staff on Workday tools and best practices.
Serve as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues involving integrations, data flows, or Extend apps.
Required Skills & Experience:
5-7 year's Workday technical experience across integrations, reporting, and data solutions.
Hands-on expertise with:
Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect
Workday Orchestrate
Workday Reporting (Advanced, Matrix, Composite, BIRT)
Workday Prism Analytics
Workday Extend
REST/SOAP APIs
Strong understanding of Workday HCM and Payroll data models.
Experience with ETL patterns and cross-system data flows.
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and performance optimization skills.
Preferred Skills:
Workday Extend Professional experience or multiple Extend app deployments.
SQL and data modeling background for Prism datasets.
Experience developing orchestrated workflows across Workday and external systems.
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $47.15/hour - $73.68/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
