Senior Technology SME

• We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Senior Technology SME to support strategic initiatives across the Advisory, Sales & Distribution and Global Capital Markets technology organizations. This individual will serve as a cross-functional technical leader, providing deep technical expertise, architecture guidance, solution consulting, and delivery oversight across multiple front-office technology platforms.

• The ideal candidate combines strong engineering capabilities with an understanding of investment banking and capital markets workflows. They will act as a trusted advisor to technology and business stakeholders while remaining actively involved in solution design, technical assessment, modernization initiatives, and AI adoption opportunities.
  
  

Key Responsibilities:

Technology Leadership & Advisory:

• Provide technology leadership across multiple strategic programs supporting investment banking, capital markets, sales, trading, and client distribution functions.

• Serve as a technical consultant for architecture reviews, modernization initiatives, and platform transformation efforts.

• Identify opportunities to simplify architecture, improve scalability, and reduce technical debt.

• Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, architects, and engineering leaders to define technology roadmaps.

Engineering Excellence:

• Design and review enterprise-scale applications built predominantly on Java and Angular technologies.

• Drive best practices around application architecture, API design, microservices, event-driven systems, and cloud-native development.

• Perform deep technical reviews of critical applications and provide recommendations for optimization and modernization.

• Support delivery teams in resolving complex technical challenges and production issues.

Capital Markets Domain Enablement:

• Develop an understanding of investment banking, equity and debt capital markets, syndication, advisory, client onboarding, and sales/distribution processes.

• Partner with business teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable technology solutions.

• Support front-office platforms that facilitate deal lifecycle management, client coverage, product distribution, and analytics.

AI & Emerging Technology:

• Identify use cases for GenAI, Agentic AI, co-pilots, and intelligent automation across the ASD and GCM technology landscape.

• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development practices to improve engineering productivity.

• Evaluate and recommend AI solutions for documentation, testing, code generation, workflow automation, and knowledge management.

• Collaborate with enterprise AI teams to establish scalable and governed AI implementation patterns.

Delivery Support:

• Act as a technical SME across multiple projects simultaneously.

• Mentor technical leads and engineers across distributed global teams.

• Support project estimation, solution planning, risk identification, and technical governance.

• Provide executive-level technology recommendations and status updates.
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• 8 to 10 years of software engineering experience within banking, capital markets, or financial services.

Strong hands-on expertise in:

• Java (Java 11/17 )

• Spring Boot

• REST APIs

• Microservices Architecture

• Angular

• SQL / Data Modeling

• Messaging Technologies (Kafka, MQ, etc.)

• Experience working across multiple enterprise applications and technology domains.

• Strong understanding of SDLC, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and production support.

• Experience presenting technical solutions to senior business and technology stakeholders.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Sales & Trading, Research, or Wealth Management platforms.

• Experience with public cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Knowledge of Data Platforms, Snowflake, Data Lakes, and Analytics ecosystems.

Experience leveraging AI/GenAI tools such as:

• GitHub Copilot

• OpenAI / Azure OpenAI

• Microsoft Copilot

• LangChain

• MCP-based Agent Frameworks

• Intelligent Test Automation Platforms

• Prior experience serving as an Architect, Lead Engineer, Technical SME, or Technology Consultant.

Ideal Profile:

• This role is best suited for a senior technologist who can operate as a "technology utility player" across Advisory, Sales & Distribution and Global Capital Markets. The individual should be equally comfortable discussing architecture with senior leadership, guiding engineering teams on implementation details, evaluating AI use cases, and stepping into critical delivery situations to accelerate outcomes.

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $43.34/hour - $67.72/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
