We are seeking a senior Salesforce Marketing Cloud Technical Lead to serve as the technical authority for SFMC implementation across complex client engagements. This role is responsible for translating solution designs into scalable, high-quality builds, guiding technical decision-making, and ensuring all implementations align with platform best practices, client objectives, and long-term maintainability.
As part of a broader cross-functional team including project managers, solution architects, business analysts, creatives, developers, QA, and client stakeholders this individual will lead the technical execution of Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions and act as the primary expert on platform capabilities, constraints, and architectural tradeoffs.
The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience across the SFMC ecosystem, strong expertise in data architecture and campaign orchestration, and the judgment to make sound implementation decisions in fast-paced, client-facing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end technical implementation of client solutions within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
Translate business and solution requirements into scalable, supportable SFMC configurations and builds.
Serve as the senior technical expert across core SFMC capabilities, including Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, Mobile Push, Mobile Connect, Interaction Studio, Contact Builder, Content Builder, Data Extensions, CloudPages, and Intelligence Reports.
Drive sound technical and architectural decisions related to data structure, segmentation, personalization, journey design, and platform configuration.
Design and optimize SFMC data architecture, including relational data models, subscriber/contact models, key management, segmentation structures, and data extensions.
Build and support sophisticated lifecycle, triggered, and multi-channel campaigns using best practices for scalability, performance, and governance.
Apply advanced knowledge of Marketing Clouds contact data model, data views, SQL, AMP script, HTML, and CSS to support implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Advise on and support integrations including Marketing Cloud Connect, multi-org connector configurations, and Marketing Cloud APIs.
Partner with cross-functional teams to validate feasibility, identify risks, resolve technical challenges, and ensure delivery quality.
Establish and uphold implementation standards, documentation quality, and technical best practices across engagements.
Provide senior-level troubleshooting, technical oversight, and mentorship to team members as needed.
Required Qualifications:
5 years of hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience in a technical implementation, lead, or solution delivery role.
Proven experience leading or owning complex SFMC implementations in enterprise or agency environments.
Deep expertise across required SFMC modules: Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, Mobile Push, Mobile Connect, Interaction Studio, Contact Builder, Content Builder, Data Extensions, CloudPages, and Intelligence Reports.
Familiarity with Marketing Cloud Connect, multi-org connector, and Marketing Cloud APIs.
Advanced proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of AMPscript, HTML, and CSS.
Strong understanding of SFMC data architecture, including relational data models, contact models, segmentation structures, key management, and data views.
Demonstrated ability to make strong technical and architectural decisions based on business needs, best practices, and platform limitations.
Experience delivering scalable, maintainable, and supportable marketing automation solutions.
Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills in cross-functional, client-facing teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in an agency, consultancy, or client services environment.
Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications (Administrator, Email Specialist, Developer, Consultant).
Experience mentoring other developers or serving as the senior SFMC technical resource across multiple engagements.
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $52.01/hour - $81.26/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
