The Product Owner operates at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution. This role is responsible for executing the defined product vision and short-term roadmap, translating business requirements into detailed user stories, and maintaining a highly prioritized product backlog. Acting as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the engineering team, the Product Owner ensures the seamless delivery of functional enhancements that transform the user and guest experience while maximizing organizational value.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage, prioritize, and groom the product backlog, balancing technical debt, defects, and new features to ensure engineering efforts maximize business value.

  • Actively drive daily business analysis to transform high-level requirements into clear, actionable user stories with robust acceptance criteria for upcoming sprints.

  • Partner daily with development and engineering teams to clarify requirements, assign tasks/stories, monitor iteration progress, and provide final sign-off before features move into production.

  • Own the product design lifecycle by directing UI/UX designers to translate complex business cases into optimal, frictionless, and visually cohesive user experiences.

  • Ensure all business domain knowledge, consumer insights, and technical logic are effectively transferred to design resources to guarantee the functional success of product interfaces.

  • Establish and lead regular design syncs, review sessions, and check-ins to ensure wireframes, user flows, and interactive mock-ups remain stringently aligned with the product vision.

  • Collaborate closely with multi-departmental business groups to negotiate priority and scope, build consensus, and maintain alignment around corporate goals.

  • Conduct and facilitate data-driven, point-based team estimation sessions during sprint planning and modeling phases.

  • Perform regular product and design demos to showcase interactive mock-ups and sprint progress to upper management and executive leadership.

  • Coordinate with external teams to communicate the nature of incoming releases, ensuring impacted audiences achieve operational readiness and smooth adoption.

  • Educate the technical team on business domains and underlying motivations for user stories, proactively tracking down answers from external experts to reduce delivery bottlenecks.

  • Recognize delivery constraints and actively strive to enable team productivity, reduce complexity, and minimize requirement inconsistencies.

  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 2 years working in a software development lifecycle as a Business Analyst or Product Owner.

  • Knowledge of travel, leisure or cruise industry is preferred.

Competencies & skills:

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experienced with Epics, User Stories and Roadmaps.

  • Demonstrated understanding of agile and user experience, with strong digital & technical skills.

  • Ability to drive results independently. Innovation, Process Improvement, Creativity, and Clean-Sheet Reinvention skills.

  • Proven success with collaboration between cross functional teams.

  • Strong management and conflict management skills.

  • Ability to highlight considerations for alternative processes or solutions.

  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel and Visio skills to create business process models.

  • Must work well under pressure with limited direction and documentation.

Certifications & Licenses:

  • Certificate in Scrum Master or Scrum Product Owner preferred (CSM, CSPO).

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $52.06/hour - $81.35/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
