The Core Engine Calibration Engineer's role is to validate and calibrate key powertrain functions. He carries out physical tests on Client sites (dyno cell) and post-processing of data following standard methodologies and report for each deliverable produced.
Key Responsibilities:
Validation and Calibration of functions associated with PWT: tests on engine bench and on vehicle.
Calibration delivery at the various milestones in accordance with the Stellantis process for the technical areas concerned
Participation in development trips (hot/cold/altitude)
Creation and adjustment of calibrations with suppliers and partners to solve challenging issues within the area of expertise and ensure performance.
Delivery of reports and validation estimates
Participation in the development of the job field repository (RoadMap, Feedback, newcomer training, etc.) following tests feedback.
Guide calibration work and compromises based on the test feedback
Functional validation of the software: tests on engine bench and on vehicle and vehicle tests via the HCC physical interface
Conducting Stellantis physical on-site testing and post-processing of data based on the methodologies of the job standards and report for each deliverable
Delivery of calibration to the various milestones in accordance with the Stellantis process for the relevant technical areas, as well as the reports and fixed rating
Calibration and validation of the estimate of the airflow in stabilized and transient conditions, maximum filling, and limitations, associated pressure and temperature models, as well as all boost-pressure and regulation functions
Ensure the correct integration of the basic settings recommended by the design
Ensure the correct accuracy of the engine output torque estimation
Calibration and validation of the entire chain of injection models and anti-knock and LSPI strategies.
Calibrate and validation of the air/fuel adjustment functions
Mandatory skills:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or controls engineering with a 1st significant experience in Engine Calibration
Knowledge of software, CRETA/Powercal, INCA, APOGEE, OPTISIM and measurements.
Excellent verbal and written communication including technical reporting.
High level of proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing)
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $21.73/hour - $33.95/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
