Associate Attorney

• Location: Wilmington, NC
• Position: Experienced Family Law Attorney
• Schedule: Full-Time
• Compensation: 90,000–120,000 base salary, depending on experience and qualifications, with bonus opportunities

We are looking for an attorney who knows North Carolina family law, can confidently manage a caseload, and understands the importance of providing clients with clear guidance, strong advocacy, and consistent communication.

• Manage family law matters from initial consultation through final resolution.
• Advocate for clients in matters involving child custody, child support, divorce, equitable distribution, post-separation support, alimony, domestic violence protective orders, and other family law matters.
• Prepare for and attend hearings, trials, mediations, conferences, and other court proceedings.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, orders, discovery, settlement agreements, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Develop case strategies grounded in the facts, North Carolina law, and the client’s objectives.
• Maintain consistent communication with clients and help them understand each stage of their case.
• Negotiate effectively with opposing counsel while remaining prepared to litigate when necessary.
• Collaborate with paralegals, attorneys, and other team members to move cases forward efficiently.
• Manage deadlines, calendaring, timekeeping, and case documentation accurately and consistently.
• Contribute to a team-oriented environment focused on communication, problem-solving, accountability, and excellent client service.
  

• Active North Carolina law license in good standing
• Meaningful experience practicing North Carolina family law
• Proven ability to independently manage family law matters
• Courtroom and litigation experience
• Strong knowledge of North Carolina family law, statutes, rules, procedures, and applicable local court practices
• Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills
• Strong client communication skills, including the ability to explain complex or sensitive issues clearly
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
• Sound judgment and strong attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and staff
• Commitment to professionalism, ethical practice, and exceptional client service
