Accounting Assistant - Project Invoicing
Cape Fear Engineering is seeking a high-performing, detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team. This full-time position will provide accounting and administrative support, with a primary focus on project invoicing, accounts receivable, and billing coordination.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, professional, and takes pride in producing accurate work. This position requires someone who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with both internal staff and clients when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, process, and distribute project invoices accurately and timely
- Review project billing information for accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate with project managers and staff regarding project billing, contracts, and changes
- Track accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices as needed
- Respond to client questions regarding invoices and account balances in a professional manner
- Maintain organized and accurate electronic and paper records
- Provide general administrative and accounting support as needed
Required knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
- 3-5 years of recent accounting, billing or invoicing experience preferred
- Project invoicing or experience in an engineering, surveying or a professional services environment is a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to listen actively and communicate professionally with clients and coworkers
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Strong computer and internet skills

Reliable transportation, a valid NC driver’s license and a pre-employment background screening are required. Business working hours are 8am -5pm, Monday through Friday.
