Position Description
DEFINITION:
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
- Receives general supervision from the Director of the Surf City Center.
- Exercises no supervision.
Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:
Essential Functions:
- Provide classroom and online instruction to students
- Prepare lesson plans and schedule classroom activities
- Develop and prepare supplement materials to enhance lessons
- Develop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance; grade record individual scores
- Prepare students for industry recognized credentials and assessments
- Provideclassroomdemonstrationsonvarioustechnology;developassignmentstoprovide hands on experience as appropriate
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance
- Maintainandsubmitallrequiredpaperworkinaneat,accurateandtimelyfashion,including but not limited to: class rosters, pay sheets, attendance forms and grade rosters
- Overseetheimplementationofpoliciesandproceduresrelatedtorequiredteachingareaand in accordance with CFCC policies and guidelines
- Ensure the adherence to safe and appropriate work practices and procedures
- Help maintain an inventory of equipment and supplies
- Assess the relevance and impact of various lessons and recommend improvements as needed
- Overseeandparticipateinfieldstudiesandassignments;travelwithstudentstoprovide assistance and instruction as appropriate
- Provide guest speakers or field experts where appropriate
- Stay aware of new developments with the exams and preparation
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
- Organizational and management practices as applied to the planning, analysis and evaluation of programs, policies and operational needs.
- Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations.
- Principles and proceduresofacademicandinstructionalprogramdevelopmentand administration in the area of assignment.
- Principles and practices of curriculum development and instructional strategies.
- Current trends, research and development in the area of assignment.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contactedi n the course of work
- Communicate concisely and respectfully, both orally and in writing
- Interpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES:
Minimum Education/Training:
- A minimum of an AAS degree in Automotive Systems Technology o rcloselyr elated Transportation Techanology field from an accredited college or university.
- At least five (5) years of professional experience in Automotive Service.
Preferred Education/Training,Experience,Skills:
- 10 years professional experience in Automotive Systems or closely related field
- Some previous teaching experience
