Exotic Animal - Veterinary Assistant Instructor (Evenings)

Exotics Instructor – NAVTA Approved Veterinary Assistant Program Are you passionate about exotic animal medicine and education? We are seeking an experienced and engaging Exotics Instructor to teach a specialized component of our NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant Program. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian, veterinary technician, or experienced exotic animal professional who enjoys sharing their knowledge with the next generation of veterinary support staff. Position Details Teach 10-15 classes per school year Didactic classes can be remotely taught Classes meet once weekly for 3 hours Flexible scheduling between September and May Choose either Mondays or Wednesdays Opportunity to help shape curriculum and provide real-world clinical insight Course Content Instruction should include both didactic and hands-on learning experiences covering: Exotic animal anatomy and physiology Species-specific husbandry and care Safe handling and restraint techniques Common husbandry-related health concerns Practical skills and clinical applications Qualifications Experience working with exotic animal species in a veterinary, zoological, rehabilitation, or educational setting Strong communication and teaching skills Veterinary credential (DVM, VTS, CVT/LVT/RVT) required Passion for mentoring and educating future veterinary professionals What We Offer Flexible schedule with minimal time commitment Opportunity to inspire students pursuing veterinary careers Collaborative and supportive educational environment Competitive compensation If you are enthusiastic about exotic animal care and enjoy teaching, we would love to hear from you.
