Job Description:
The Cultivation Technician will assist the cultivation management team with all tasks associated with the daily maintenance and production of cannabis. Our ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, high attention to detail, and the ability to interact positively and effectively in a team environment.
This role is crucial in ensuring that our plants are happy, healthy and yield strong results. The Cultivation Technician is responsible for cannabis care in all stages of growth, not limited to, but including germination, propagation, vegetative states, flower, harvest, dry/cure, and trim/packaging. The Technician journals, monitors and tracks all observations in the company’s tracking system in compliance. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing cannabis company!
Duties:
- Assist with monitoring plant health and performing plant actions such as pruning, topping, trellising, defoliating, cloning, and transplanting
- Assist with harvest and perform post-harvest duties such as bucking, trimming, burping and packaging
- Assist with integrative pest management and protocols set forth
- Maintain daily logs and records of inventory and all plant and product actions using designated software
- Comprehend basic water quality parameters such as pH, ppm, and EC
- Comply with CCC regulations and Cape Cod Grow Lab policies and procedures
- Assist with fertigation and irrigation tasks
- Track environmental factors to provide to management
- Perform waste management duties
- Perform all cultivation tasks in an efficient and timely manner
- Operate heavy and light horticultural equipment and machinery
- Safe handling and application of flammable and corrosive chemicals
- Comply with CCC Agent Registration, CORI check, and RVT training
- Assist with cleaning in cultivation, post harvest, and common areas
- Communicate effectively with your team and management
- Additional tasks may be added
Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check as mandated by the Cannabis Control Commission
- Entry level experience as greenhouse technician is a plus
- Working knowledge of cannabis industry
- Working knowledge of general plant physiology and biology is a plus
- Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
- Experience with inventory control methods
- Excellent mathematics and reasoning skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- General tool, hardware, ladder and building skills
- Self-motivated
- Ability to multitask
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, reach with hands and arms and use peripheral vision; ability to adjust and focus
- Frequently required to walk, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally requires climbing or balance, stoop, kneel or crouch for extended periods of time
- Ability to climb and work from a ladder
- Occasionally work in wet or humid conditions, in high places, exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- Available to work weekends if requested
