What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cultivation Technician position at ARL Healthcare?
The Cultivation Technician will assist the cultivation management team with all tasks associated with the daily maintenance and production of a medicinal cannabis crop. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, high attention to detail, and the ability to interact positively and effectively in a team environment.
Cultivation Technicians must maintain excellent personal hygiene, work space cleanliness, and quality control measures to ensure a high quality product in accordance with the state and company standards.
Job Description:
- Perform daily plant care activities, including planting, watering, pruning, trellising, defoliating, and monitoring plant health.
- Monitor environmental conditions (humidity, temperature, light levels) and report variances to management.
- Perform cloning, transplanting, and other propagation duties with a focus on consistency and care.
- Assist with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) protocols under direction.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in cultivation and work areas according to SOPs and CCC regulations.
- Accurately track plant movements and updates in the state-mandated seed-to-sale tracking system (e.g., Metrc).
- Execute harvest procedures, including cutting, trimming, drying, and weighing plant material.
- Complete required logs, forms, and documentation for compliance audits.
- Adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety requirements.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve production goals.
- Assist with special projects or tasks as assigned by the Cultivation Manager.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong work ethic & willingness to take instruction. 1 year of cannabis cultivation or commercial horticulture experience preferred, but not required. An extra commitment to receiving on-the-job training from the Cultivation Manager or Team Lead, to support sustainable and efficient production practices in our cultivation facility setting.
Working Conditions:
- While performing the duties of this job, you will be regularly required to perform grasping, lifting, walking, standing, talking, hearing, seeing, stooping and repetitive motions. This
position also requires working in warm and humid conditions. You must be able to work autonomously given instructions.
Physical Requirements:
- This position is full-time. The individual will work a minimum of 40 hours on site. This position is VERY LABOR INTENSIVE. You must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds, may include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching

- Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm (rotating weekend schedule, every other weekend)
