GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Department of Science is seeking part-time Biology Instructor to teach a wide range of Biology courses offered, including Human Anatomy & Physiology I and II with Labs and Survey of Biology with Lab. This includes preparing and presenting lectures, leading and facilitating classroom discussions, and evaluating and grading student performance while maintaining a focus on pursuing equitable student outcomes. This may include teaching at multiple locations: Our Funeral Service program at the Bridgewater State University campus or evening classes at the West Barnstable campus. Position is to be filled for Spring 2027 semester.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes.
- Select and develop appropriate materials for class use.
- Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records.
- Track and assess student progress based on quizzes, exams, and assignments.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Biology, or related Biology field.
- Experience teaching freshman and sophomore level biology courses, preferably in a community college setting.
- Commitment to the community college philosophy.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with students and colleagues.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Additional Information:
COMPENSATION: Anticipated staring salary - Step 1 DCE pay scale (currently $4,536 for 3-credit course). Part-time, non-benefited MCCC/DCE Unit position.
