*** This position is a full-time employee that will substitute teach every day of the week. This employee will earn leave accruals, year round pay, benefits (if elected), and years of service towards TRS retirement. Human Resources will contact this employee every morning to issue their assignment/campus for that given day. Flexibility with location and assignments will be expected.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or the equivalent
Completion of Canyon ISD substitute training
Special Knowledge Skills:
Must have a pleasing personality and a desire to work with students.
Must have the ability to assume responsibility for direct instruction of students.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provides classroom instruction and assistance to students.
- Supervises students.
- Uses professional information discreetly and judiciously.
- Interacts with campus faculty and students in a positive and professional manner.
- Represents the school district to the community in a positive professional way.
- Actively accepting positions is essential.
- Abide by CISD policies and procedures for substitutes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Posture: Moderate standing; occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, and stooping
- Motion: Moderate walking
- Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
- Environment: Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise
- Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
