Field Service Technician
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Packaging Equipment Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of packaging machinery and systems used in the production process. This role requires a combination of technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, and automation systems, along with problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, with strong technical expertise and a desire to grow into a leadership role within the Service Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, set up, and calibrate new packaging equipment and machinery according to technical specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
- Conduct initial testing and verification of equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) on packaging machines to ensure optimal performance and reduce the risk of breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation issues, diagnosing problems and determining corrective actions.
- Repair or replace faulty parts, components, or systems
- Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades or modifications to improve reliability, productivity, or cost-effectiveness.
- Participate in the design and implementation of new packaging systems or the integration of automation technologies.
- Ensure that all packaging equipment and processes meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal safety protocols.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following all safety procedures and encouraging adherence to best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in packaging equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Hands-on experience with a variety of packaging machines (e.g., shrink packaging systems, stretch wrapping systems, conveyors, strapping systems, labelers, cartoners, case packers, etc.).
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical components (e.g., sensors, actuators, motors, drives).
- Familiarity with control systems (PLC/HMI) and industrial automation technologies.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- Attention to detail and a focus on quality and safety.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
