Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of all financial data using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently while maintaining detailed records.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Conduct monthly account analysis, general ledger reconciliation, and double entry bookkeeping to ensure data integrity.
- Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements as needed.
- Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and preparing relevant documentation for management review.
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
- Experience with governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
- Knowledge of GAAP guidelines and technical accounting principles to ensure compliance.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills; familiarity with 10 key typing for data entry efficiency.
- Effective communication skills for financial report writing and collaborating with team members on account analysis and budgeting tasks.
