Cantor Fitzgerald is seeking an experienced Futures Operations expert to support the firm’s futures and options clearing initiatives, with a focus on GMI, customer clearing, reconciliations, and operational readiness.
The ideal candidate will have significant hands-on experience in futures operations, strong knowledge of the GMI back-office platform, and a practical understanding of customer clearing workflows across futures and options products.
Key Responsibilities
- Support futures and options clearing operations, including customer clearing workflows.
- Perform trade allocation, give-up, and give-in processing.
- Research and resolve trade, cash, margin, position, and settlement breaks.
- Support daily reconciliations across GMI, exchanges, clearing houses, banks, and internal books and records.
- Process and review cash movements, general ledger entries, fees, commissions, and related GMI activity.
- Assist with customer statement, margin, point balance, and expiration processing.
- Partner with Operations, Middle Office, Finance, Technology, Compliance, and Risk on process improvements and control enhancements.
- Support onboarding, testing, and readiness for new futures products, exchanges, and clearing relationships.
- Document procedures, identify automation opportunities, and help strengthen the operating model.
Required Experience
- 5 years of futures and options operations experience.
- Expert level experience with GMI; minimum 3 years required.
- Strong knowledge of customer futures clearing, including account setup, trade processing, margin, cash, reconciliations, and statements.
- Experience with CME/CBOT, COMEX, NYMEX, and/or other listed derivatives markets preferred.
- Familiarity with clearing house and FCM operational processes.
- Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze large operational datasets.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
- Experience supporting new product, exchange, or clearing platform onboarding.
- Background working with Operations, Technology, Risk, Finance, and Compliance stakeholders.
- Prior experience improving manual processes, controls, and reconciliations.
Base salary: Starting at $70,000 plus Bonus
The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis considering a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package (including health, vision, and dental insurance, paid time off and a 401(k) retirement), this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
