VACANCY: School Vehicle Driver

-Hourly Rate: $17.78
Canon-McMillan School District is hiring School Vehicle Drivers to support transportation needs.
The School Vehicle Driver transports students over specified routes according to time scheduled.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, TASKS and DUTIES
- Performs driving as assigned, in accordance with all safety regulations and traffic laws set forth by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Canon-McMillan School District.
- Maintains discipline on the vehicle according to School Code of Conduct and reports misbehavior of students to the Director of Support Services.
- Ability to do basic math in order to maintain daily student count and mileage records.
- Refuels the vehicle after completing runs and reports any mechanical problems to the garage mechanics.
- Ability to perform the following:
- Work in a friendly manner with co-workers and students
- Read and understand maps.
- Pass Department of Transportation school vehicle physical.
- Communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form
- Maintains an up-to-date schedule of times and bus stops, making necessary changes and reporting all changes to the assistant director of school services and/or dispatcher.
- Performs other duties assigned by the Director of Support Services.
OTHER FUNCTIONS, TASKS and DUTIES
- Cleans interior of vehicle daily and washes exterior as needed.
- Maintains an accurate record of time and destination for extra, unscheduled runs, and layover time paid on the basis of hourly rate.
- Installs and/or removes tire chains as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
GED Required
Valid PA Driver's License
