Duties
- Greet clients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out procedures for appointments and surgeries
- Schedule appointments, answer phone calls, and respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally
- Collect payments, process medical billing, and handle financial transactions accurately
- Maintain detailed patient records, update medical histories, and ensure confidentiality
- Manage laboratory sample intake, prepare specimens, and assist with basic lab procedures when needed
- Support kennel operations by coordinating pet boarding, feeding schedules, and animal care instructions
- Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint during examinations or treatments using proper animal handling techniques
- Ensure the reception area remains organized, clean, and welcoming at all times
Skills
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and restraint techniques
- Experience with pet care tasks such as grooming, dog training, or pet grooming is a plus
- Ability to handle animals safely using proper animal husbandry practices and aseptic techniques
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care procedures and laboratory processes including sample collection and processing
- Proficiency in medical collection procedures such as blood draws or catheterization of animals when necessary
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners, veterinary staff, and suppliers
- Experience in kennel management or animal handling in diverse environments such as equine or small animal clinics is desirable
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
