Industrial Electrician

Job Summary:
Cannonball Recruiting is seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician with strong experience in PLC programming, conveyor systems, and industrial electrical maintenance. This position is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on industrial electrical equipment, automated production systems, and material handling equipment. The ideal candidate has experience working in a manufacturing environment and can diagnose electrical and control system issues to minimize downtime while maintaining a safe and efficient operation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical degree or certification in Industrial Electricity, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or related field preferred.
- 3 years of industrial electrician experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proven experience programming and troubleshooting PLC systems.
- Experience maintaining and repairing industrial conveyor systems.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems up to 480V three-phase.
- Experience with motor controls, VFDs, sensors, HMIs, relays, and automation equipment.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and ladder logic diagrams.
- Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting using multimeters and other diagnostic equipment.
- Familiarity with CMMS maintenance software is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems, machinery, and production equipment.
- Program, troubleshoot, modify, and maintain PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, or similar).
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system issues on conveyor systems and automated equipment.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on electrical components, motors, drives, sensors, VFDs, and control panels.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Install and wire motors, control panels, sensors, relays, transformers, and other industrial electrical components.
- Troubleshoot motor control circuits, safety circuits, and automation equipment to restore production quickly.
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
- Calibrate instrumentation and electrical devices as required.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders in the CMMS system.
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E standards, and company safety policies.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Participate in emergency breakdown response and scheduled maintenance activities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces throughout the shift.
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work at heights and around moving machinery.
- Must be able to distinguish colors for electrical wiring identification.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on-call as needed.
