Construction Executive
Location: Sterling, VA
Compensation & Work Structure:
- Base salaryaround $200,000 (flexible based on experience — can be higher or lower)
- Bonus potential up to20%
- Full-time, salaried role (no overtime)
- Hybrid flexibility — up to3 days work-from-home
- Local role —home every night (no extended travel required)
Qualifications:
- 15 years of experience in construction leadership, project management, or engineering
- Strong experience in commercial construction (mechanical, HVAC, or plumbing preferred)
- Large Renovations & Mechanical System Upgrade (Projects $5M-$30M )
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing project teams
- Deep understanding of construction financials, contracts, and scheduling
- Strong client-facing and relationship management experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide executive-level leadership across commercial mechanical construction projects
- Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Engineers, and Field Leadership
- Drive performance across safety, schedule, quality, and profitability
- Oversee project financials including budgets, forecasting, and risk management
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Support preconstruction efforts, project pursuits, and contract negotiations
- Oversee development and execution of master project schedules
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence
- Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic growth and operational improvements
- Strengthen relationships with GCs, subcontractors, architects, and vendors
- Support implementation of new technologies and process improvements
