This is a 3rd-Shift Maintenance Supervisor opportunity with an automotive manufacturing company in Battle Creek.
About the Role
They're seeking a maintenance leader with 5 years of maintenance experience, including supervisory experience in an industrial environment. The role is responsible for leading and developing the maintenance team, overseeing the preventive maintenance program, improving equipment reliability and uptime, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. A strong focus on safety is critical, including experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and overall safety compliance. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in supporting production operations and improving maintenance performance across the facility. Must be comfortable working 3rd shift hours including mandatory overtime as needed which can include weekends and potential 10hr shifts.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the maintenance team
- Oversee the preventive maintenance program
- Improve equipment reliability and uptime
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure a strong focus on safety
- Supervise 5 direct reports (1 Team Lead and 4 Maintenance Techs)
Qualifications
- 5 years maintenance experience with at least some supervisory/leadership responsibility within manufacturing environment
Required Skills
- Maintenance knowledge and hands-on experience with industrial equipment (ex: PLC-controlled equipment, Hydraulics and pneumatics, Conveyors / automation, Robotics, Presses, molding, or similar production equipment)
- Familiar with CMMS, work orders, and maintenance scheduling
