ABOUT THE JOB

Cannect Dispensary is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager & Inventory Manager to play a crucial role in the successful launch and ongoing operations of our brand-new dispensary in Illinois. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for supporting all aspects of dispensary operations with a specific focus on inventory management. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of a premium cannabis brand in a dynamic market.

AT CANNECT DISPENSARY, YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR...

Support Pre-Launch Operations

  • Assist the General Manager in the development and execution of the comprehensive pre-launch plan for the dispensary.
  • Participate in the recruitment process for dispensary staff, including budtenders and inventory specialists.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of training programs, with a focus on product knowledge and inventory management procedures.
  • Assist in the build-out and merchandising of the dispensary, ensuring efficient inventory storage and display.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) specifically related to inventory management, including receiving, storage, tracking, and dispensing.
  • Support the General Manager in ensuring all necessary licenses and permits are in place prior to launch, particularly those related to inventory control.

Manage Ongoing Operations (Post-Launch):

  • Assist the General Manager in the day-to-day operations of the dispensary, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to all state and local regulations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all inventory-related matters.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maintain accurate inventory levels, minimize loss, and optimize product availability.
  • Oversee the ordering, receiving, inspection, and storage of all cannabis products and accessories, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
  • Implement and maintain a robust inventory tracking system, utilizing the dispensary's POS and inventory management software.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Work closely with budtenders to ensure accurate dispensing of products and maintain inventory integrity at the point of sale.
  • Monitor product movement and sales data to inform purchasing decisions and identify slow-moving or high-demand items.
  • Ensure compliance with all state regulations related to cannabis inventory control, including labeling, packaging, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in training budtenders and other staff on proper inventory handling procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any inventory-related inquiries or concerns.
  • Assist the General Manager in managing and mentoring dispensary staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Implement and enforce security protocols related to inventory storage and movement.
  • Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, discrepancies, and other relevant metrics for the General Manager.
  • Stay up-to-date on all changes in Illinois cannabis regulations related to inventory management and ensure ongoing compliance.

THIS ROLE REQUIRES...

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a retail environment, with at least 1 year of experience in inventory management within the Illinois cannabis market is highly preferred. Candidates with strong inventory management experience in a regulated industry may also be considered.
  • A solid understanding of Illinois cannabis regulations related to inventory control and compliance.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass any required background checks.
  • A passion for the cannabis industry and a commitment to Cannect Wellness's values of quality and sustainability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to change.

  • The work environment is typically a retail dispensary setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The employee may be exposed to cleaning chemicals and cannabis products.
  • Schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00 per year
