Plant Manager

As the Plant Manager for the Canlak Osseo, MN site, you will be responsible for the management of overall site operations and employee management. This includes the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality and inventory management and safety measures as established and set for the Operations Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of day-to-day operations at the Canlak Osseo, MN site.
• Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production at the facility.
• Review, implement and track corporate KPI’s; develop plan to achieve targets
• Manage budget and headcount
• Manage personnel performance, behavior, and conflict resolution
• Set overall facility policies and procedures to ensure effective operations
• Ensure materials, supplies and equipment are readily and continuously available for workers to carry out production process
• Determine resource requirements, work allocation and production deadlines to achieve production objectives
• Identify trends and implement continuous plant improvements for increased productivity
• Responsible for building maintenance
• H&S procedures, training, conformity with regulations
• Analyze process workflow - employee and space requirements, equipment layout, etc.
• Manage capital and other projects
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and maintaining personal networks
• Administer all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs
• Maintain proper documentation for all plant related activities
• Lead the Quality and ISO programs
• Perform related duties as assigned, within your scope of practice

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Responsible for all operations employees

Qualifications

·        Must have thorough understanding of the Lab, Production, and Shipping areas

·        Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with fellow employees and management

·        Excellent leadership skills, leading by example

·        Excellent people and conflict management skills

·        Excellent verbal and written communications skills

·        Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

·        Proficient with MS Office Suite or related software – especially spreadsheets

·        Knowledge of working with an ERP system required

Education and/or Experience

·        Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred

·        10 years of progressive leadership and management experience preferred

·        Experience with Wood Coatings a plus

·        Experience with batch manufacturing a plus

·        Experience with contract manufacturing management a plus

Organizational Structure

·        The Osseo Plant Manager will report directly to the Canlak COO

·        Direct Reports – responsible for total dept staffing of approx. 35 people
