Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Social Services field with two years of experience; Social Work, Counseling or Education degree preferred. Must have direct practice in social work, mental health, or child development, supervision of program staff, and experience in implementing trauma informed care. Social Work, RSW with five years of experience working with youth and supervising staff may be substituted for Master’s Degree. Candidate must be or become certified Trust Based Relational Intervention-TBRI Practitioner.

Responsibilities:

The TBRI Coach is primarily responsible for the direct oversight, training, implementation and case management of trauma informed care in the home using tools from Trust Based Relational Interventions and Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This position will serve as the lead behavioral health expert working in partnership with a treatment team to support the therapeutic needs of youth, trauma recovery, crisis intervention, and ensure fidelity to the treatment model. Professional responsibilities include application of the following:

1. Work in partnership with Program Director to review youth referrals and interviews

2. Provide care within scope of practice as defined by state law and TBRI principles

3. Attain competencies in QRTP Trauma Informed Treatment Model and ensure fidelity to

Trust Based Relational Practices-TBRI across business and treatment processes

4. Collaborate with CCC and community counselors in planning treatment needs for all youth

5. Make referrals or recommendation in conjunction with Program Director for psychological evaluation, psychiatric medication management, and behavioral health; maintain written communication between agencies to enhance organized progression toward service plan goals

6. Provide specialized group therapy as dictated by program and youth needs; lead weekly Nurture Group and other groups as needed including substance abuse, conflict resolution, anger management, sexual abuse, building self-esteem, Trauma Informed Care and life skills

7. Consult with Program Director and Director of Clinical Services on regular basis in treatment planning and emergencies to facilitate use of optimal program services

8. Assist Program Director in developing individualized service plans which include behavioral goals that are objective, measurable, and time limited. Align CANS Assessment with service plan; monitor baseline progress measurements and update to meet youth maturational needs

9. Maintain and update files for use in client activities and use of evidenced based services

10.Assist in training Youth Care Worker staff in working with youth on placement stabilization, crisis interventions goals and issues identified in the youth’s service plan; remain active on the milieu in role modeling TBRI practices and coaching staff on use of TBRI interventions

11.Lead behavioral health staff on the QRTP treatment team in planning and implementation of treatment goals to improve youth outcomes

12.Provide crisis intervention for residents and work with the treatment team to develop and implement crisis plans for youth to improve outcomes and maintain stability

13.Participate in monthly Family Permanency Team meetings for all youth and partner with Youth Engagement Specialist to support and build healthy family relationships

14.Assist in linking youth to behavioral health, mental health, and substance abuse supports outside the agency; meet with Psychiatrist and youth to improve youth outcomes

15.Assist in monitoring symptoms for medication management or potential crises; report concerns to Program Director and collaborate on intervention plan; advise caseworker

16.Support collaborative meetings, round tables, and planning sessions with TBRI Strategies to develop best practice approaches and improve youth outcomes; take strategies and help staff implement on milieu to improve youth outcomes

17.Maintain communication with caseworker in relation to individual client progression or treatment needs; document contacts and update progress on trauma assessments

18.Perform services as it pertains to the care of youth or administration of the social services program as required by accreditation and licensing policies

19.Maintain required program statistics, demographics, and record of services

20.Serve as Chair of Behavior Management accreditation committee; implement policy and Practice, especially related to QRTP practices and TBRI Interventions

21.Work to understand the underlying needs of dysfunctional behaviors that create barriers to development of healthy relationships, seek solutions, and support team plan for intervention. Monitor and lead interventions for both youth and staff need in building healthy relationships

22.Complete TBRI Practitioners certification, partner with Program Director in TBRI program leadership, serve on TBRI Intervention Team, and maintain credentialing

23.Work directly on the milieu with staff on various shifts at least twice a week to model TBRI, provide direct TBRI coaching for staff and follow up as needed with individual staff to maximize trauma informed interventions, calming plans, or process secondary trauma

24.Assist Youth Engagement Specialist with providing Aftercare Services and Supports as needed to reinforce youth treatment gains and maintain placement resource

25.Provide professional services, counseling, and crisis intervention at unusual hours; be accessible at all times for mental health consultation for on-call administrative staff; serve as part of monthly on-call rotation cycle.

26.Assist Program Director and Chief Executive Officer in requirements necessary to ensure optimal agency management; report to QRTP Program Director

27.Role model mature, empathetic, caring and responsible behavior in demonstrating appropriate social and emotional development for residents

28.Maintain personal and professional development; attend seminars and conferences to enhance professional knowledge, review best practice, and maintain licensure

Pay: $36,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
