Position Summary
The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals that meet residents' dietary needs and preferences while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and sanitation in the kitchen.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals according to menus, recipes, and resident diet orders, including modified textures and special diets.
Ensure proper portioning, presentation, and timely meal service.
Maintain kitchen sanitation, safe food handling, and proper food storage and labeling practices.
Assist with inventory, ordering, and rotation of food and supplies.
Collaborate with the dietary team to accommodate resident preferences and nutritional needs.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior cooking experience required; long-term care/skilled nursing experience preferred.
ServSafe or related certification preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow recipes and diet orders accurately.
