Duties
- Greet guests warmly with enthusiasm and professionalism, creating a friendly first impression.
- Manage reservations and waitlists using POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to organize seating efficiently.
- Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and answering initial questions about the restaurant’s offerings.
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and smooth flow of service.
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand, ensuring all guest areas are welcoming and presentable.
- Handle guest inquiries via phone with courteous phone etiquette, providing accurate information about wait times or reservations.
- Assist in guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring every guest feels valued and appreciated.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests, team members, and management.
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Toast POS or Heartland POS is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on creating positive guest experiences.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Previous hotel or guest services experience is advantageous but not mandatory; a background in serving or hospitality enhances your candidacy.
