Maintenance Technician (Conveyors)

Candidate Source is hiring on behalf of a leading distribution center in Ashland, VA. We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep fast-moving conveyor and packaging systems running safely and efficiently. This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined technician who’s worked in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment and enjoys troubleshooting a variety of systems — from conveyors to building maintenance.

• Monday-Thursday: 7:00am-5:30pm (4) 10 hour shifts

• Day shift with flexibility for weekend or night coverage as needed

• Full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity with room to grow

• Maintain and repair powered conveyor systems, including 480V motors, sensors, and 24V/120V control wiring

• Troubleshoot VFDs, photo eyes, scanners, and sortation equipment to keep product moving through the facility

• Perform preventive maintenance and assist with repairs on packaging equipment, forklifts, and facility systems (lighting, plumbing, HVAC, etc.)

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues using schematics and manuals

• Document all work performed in the CMMS system and follow safety/lockout procedures

• Support shift coverage and respond to maintenance calls as needed

• Mechanical and electrical repair experience, ideally in a distribution or logistics setting

• Hands-on experience with conveyor systems, scanners, photo eyes, and checkweighers

• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics

• Comfortable troubleshooting 480V and 24V control systems

• Basic computer skills and prior CMMS experience preferred

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights or in warm/dusty environments

• Willing to work occasional weekend or night shift coverage
