Construction Superintendent (Custom Homes)

Job Overview

Canalfront Builders, an award-winning custom home builder in coastal Delaware is seeking a full-time Custom Home Site Superintendent. The ideal candidate will manage daily on-site operations, coordinate trade partners work, and maintain client communication throughout the process. In this dynamic role, you will oversee all aspects of construction site operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will coordinate between clients, trade partners, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver exceptional craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. Your leadership will drive project success from pre-construction through final inspection and move in.

Key Responsibilities

• On-Site Management: Oversee daily field construction activities, quality control and site safety on our custom builds throughout the area.
• Trade Partner Coordination: Schedule, direct, and evaluate trade partner contractors and material suppliers to ensure strict adherence to building plans, specifications and code compliance.
• Client Communication: Partner with the Project Manager to conduct weekly client updates along with other communication including in-person meetings, phone meetings and cloud platforms like CoConstruct/Builder Trend.
• Quality Control: Maintain quality assurance and ensure trade partners are following proper installation to a level of craftsmanship standards that meet our award-winning specifications. Maintain detailed punch list through project completion.
• Schedule Control: Maintain tight construction schedules with trade partners while proactively addressing delays. Schedules will be updated daily via CoConstruct/Builder Trend.
• Safety: Maintain safety initiatives while monitoring trade partner compliance to OSHA standards.
• Job Site Appearance: Maintain a organized, professional, and clean job site by holding trade partners accountable daily.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of construction regulations including OSHA standards and federal safety regulations.
• Proven ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and schematics.
• Skilled in managing teams in a construction management role with excellent supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in construction scheduling and project coordination to meet deadlines efficiently.
• Experience supervising commercial or custom residential construction projects with a focus on quality control.
• Effective managerial communication skills for managing crews and coordinating with clients and stake holders.
• Strong leadership, exceptional problem-solving skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with trade partners, clients and team members.
• Comfort using phone/tablet for scheduling, project documentation and client communication.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
