Compensation: $28.50–$33.00 per hour
Availability: This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for the right candidate, offering a dynamic and engaging role within our team. The position is on-site in Redmond, with the office relocating to Bothell the second week of January.
This well-established company in the construction and materials industry is looking for a Payroll Specialist. This role is primarily focused on timekeeping and payroll (about 80%), with the remaining 20% supporting HR functions. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and engaging role within the team!
What you’ll get to do
- Daily timekeeping and weekly payroll
- Process hourly employee transactions (i.e., department and supervisor changes and other items), in conjunction with Pacific Northwest home office and corporate teams.
- Complete I-9/E-Verify checks.
- Track and update DOT medical certificates, emergency contacts and driver count report.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of personal information.
- Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with individuals across a broad range of stakeholders, organizational levels, and groups.
- Build trust and establish positive working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the organization.
- Seek ways to simplify and improve work processes to achieve business results.
- Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Essential Experience and Skills
- Timekeeping and Payroll Experience
- Union Contract experience
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Professional conduct and maturity.
- Able to relate well with team members at all levels of the company.
- Reliable and dependable.
- Basic understanding of HR best practices.
- Ability to understand and explain basic policy related information to employees.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability and skill to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work under pressure while handling multiple tasks and frequent interruptions.
