Position Summary
The Adjunct Instructor will work in the Department of Christian Studies and teach Introduction to Christianity, CHRS 125, and other revlevent Christian Studies courses as needed.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and implement curriculum, inclusive of learning objectives
- Develop and manage course materials from learning objectives and selected textbook provided by the department chair
- Select and administer tests, assignments and other exercises that permit measurement of performance relative to the course learning objectives
- Post grades on the Blackboard Grade Center and well as Campbell’s Self-Service portal
- Maintain timely communications with students and staff at all times
- Interact with students in a positive manner, listen effectively, field questions pertaining to subject matter
- Assess participation and performance of students within the classroom
- Evaluate student work on out of class assignments
- Administer exams according to university guidelines
- Complete student record keeping in a timely and accurate manner
- Participate in departmental, faculty and staff meetings as requested
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX and FERPA guidelines
- Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice
- Minimum of 18 credit hours in graduate-level religious studies required
- Communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels
- Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with trustees, faculty, staff, students, university officials and the public
- Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people
- Exercise independent judgement as necessary
- The position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University
