POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Staff Accountant to provide insight into operations and increase department accuracy and efficiency. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Financial Recordkeeping:
    • Maintain and update financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
    • Reconcile bank statements and various accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Generate financial reports for management review, highlighting key financial metrics and trends.
  • Account Reconciliation:
    • Reconcile and analyze accounts to identify discrepancies and variances.
    • Resolve discrepancies by investigating and correcting errors as necessary.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing financial data and analysis.
    • Collaborate with department managers to gather budget input and track budget performance.
  • Audit Support:
    • Prepare audit schedules and assist external auditors during financial audits.
    • Address audit inquiries and provide documentation as required.
  • Expense Management:
    • Monitor and analyze expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities.
    • Review and process employee expense reports.
  • Compliance and Regulations:
    • Stay up to date with accounting standards and regulations.
    • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as applicable.
  • Special Projects:
    • Participate in ad-hoc financial projects as assigned by the Accounting Director or Controller.

Qualifications:

 

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel utilizing VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience is preferred
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and interpersonal skills, strong understanding of accounting, finance and management principles
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, proficiency with computers. Experience with other financial systems.
