About the Position
The Program Director is the collaborative and organizational heartbeat of camp. This person who ensures every day runs smoothly, safely, and joyfully. You’ll plan, implement, and supervise all camp programs, youth activities, and daily camp operations for about 145 campers and 40 staff each summer day (and about 30 campers and 6 staff during Spring Break Camp days). This is a 40 hour a week job during the summer and one week of spring break. Offseason work can be done mostly from home on a flexible schedule and is 10-15 hours a week.

Minimum qualifications:
- Certification in child & adult First Aid and CPR (can be obtained through Camp Riverlea).
- License with a clean driving record.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience supervising children, teens, and adults.
- Experience in conflict resolution.
- Ability to plan and lead formal and informal staff training sessions.
- Self-motivated, works independently, organized, and able to juggle multiple projects.
Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, assign, manage, evaluate, and support camp staff and counselors-in-training (CITs).
- Assist camp director in developing & refining CIT & staffing process/program yearly, staying in compliance with ACA standards & maintaining non-discriminatory & equal opportunity values.
- Assist camp director in implementing a plan of youth supervision and programing that ensures safety and fun experiences for campers, resolving any youth interpersonal, emotional, or social issues that might occur.
- Assist the camp director with parent communication, marketing tasks, and social media, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the owner or camp director.
- All work must be consistent with the written mission and goals of Riverlea, LLC and adhere to the most recent version of the American Camp Association accreditation standards.
Essential Functions:
- Able to walk for extended periods of time & walk over rough terrain without assistance.
- The ability to communicate well with people of all ages.
- Computer proficiency at an intermediate level in Microsoft Office. Ability to learn new applications.
- Has healthy levels of physical strength, flexibility and endurance and can lift 50 lbs.
- The ability to tolerate a fast-paced, noisy indoor/outdoor environment.
Pay: $27.00 - $33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10.0 – 60.0 per week
