What are the responsibilities and job description for the Independent Contractor Summer Driver position at Camp Judaea?
Camp Judaea is hiring contract part-time, hourly drivers. The driver helps ensure that the camp’s transportation needs are carried out efficiently, safely, and effectively. Scheduling will be on an as-needed basis and there are specific dates scheduled already.
Reports to: Camp Administrator
- Driving as needed
- Staff pickup/dropoff (daily scheduled drop-off/pick-ups in Asheville and Hendersonville area)
- Airport pickup/dropoff
- Grocery, Equipment, Medication purchasing/pickup
- Transportation for special guests visiting camp as needed
- Emergency driver for camp trips
- Transportation to doctors and hospitals as needed
- Other driving as assigned
- Ensure vehicles driven are kept clean and organized
- Follow all camp driving and vehicle usage procedures and policies
Desired Qualifications
- Safe and confident driver
- International Driver’s License or US Driver’s License
- Ideally able to drive a 15-passenger van
- Good character, integrity, and adaptability
- Enthusiasm, patience, flexibility and self-control
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to effectively read and follow shopping lists while purchasing materials as directed
