What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer STEAM Camp Site Director position at Camp Doodles?
Camp Doodles (Doodle) offers STEAM summer camps throughout the Bay area and we are seeking a Site Director for our San Francisco location.
Because of our accreditation with the American Camp Association, Site Directors must be at least 25 years old. Candidates must also be available the entire duration of camp, 6/15 - 8/14, and weekend trainings during May (5/16; 5/23-5/24).
Compensation:
- Pay: $27-$29/Hr
- Training: Stipend
- Safety and Performance Bonus: Up to $350 per week

What This Role Entails:
- Directing all aspects of the camp and be willing to step into any role on a daily basis
- Working directly with parents to ensure success
- Leading and managing a team
- Coaching staff on educational best practices and working with children
- Leading by example and setting the standard for other staff in attitude, expectations and work ethic
- Singing, dancing, being silly, wearing costumes, playing and having fun
- Being a Doodle ambassador to each and every family while providing the best possible customer service

What You’ve Done Before:
- College graduate
- Strong preference for teaching or other professional educator backgrounds
- Extensive experience working with children
- Ideally you attended camp as a kid
- Experience successfully managing a team of staff
The Commitments of this Job:
- This is your camp and you need to own it!
- You set the tone for the culture, vibe and program quality
- Camp days are long and hours can vary
- Days start early at 7:50 a.m.
- Follow local health office guidance and wear masks when required
- Mandatory weekly staff meetings may occur outside regular camp hours
- We need you to work the entire camp season, 8 consecutive weeks, June 16 – August 8
- You must attend all-staff training and set-up / clean-up of camp
- Pass a background check:
- A check on the National Sex Offender Registry Website
- A criminal background check through Live Scan (DOJ/FBI)
- Complete voluntary disclosure and health statements
- Provide minimum of 2 references and verified work experience
- First Aid and CPR/AED Certified, or ability to obtain certification prior to June 1 of this year
- Be at least 25 years of age
Pay: $1,280.00 - $1,510.00 per week
